

Milbridge Outdoor Theatre
Milbridge is a small village in Washington County, Maine that has struggled with the economic challenges and societal issues that all small coastal towns have had to contend with. It is often said that rural places like Milbridge, with only 1,300 residents, are a part of a lifestyle that is slowly going away. You would not get that sense when you discover the Milbridge Theatre and what it represents.
The Milbridge Theatre was originally built in 1937. Over the years, the theatre was bought and sold until 1978, when Dave Parsons purchased the building. Mr. Parsons passed away in 2014 and the theatre sat empty.
In 2017, the original building was removed and a new outdoor stage was constructed on the site. Free outdoor performances were hosted every Friday night during the summer.
By 2020, the design plans for a new theatre and community arts center were completed and approved by the state so the outdoor stage was moved to a new, waterfront location, where the community could enjoy events during the warmer months.
2021 brings a full lineup of performances that again, are free for everyone:
- July 16 – Whiskey Bent
- July 23 – Gus LaCasse
- July 30 – Allison Ames Band
- Aug. 6 – The Mike Levine Trip featuring Wendy Pedersen
- Aug. 13 – Irish Music/Celtic
- Aug. 20 – Flash in the Pans
- Aug. 27 – TBA
Open House Starts at 5:30 p.m. with rain dates for each performance on Sundays.
