On route and almost there !

The Bridge of Lions 2019, St. Augustine, FL
The lions went missing for almost 6 years while the bridge was undergoing a $40M renovation, beginning in May, 2006. The lions were donated by Dr. Andrew Anderson, who was a one-man dynamo public arts philanthropist following World War I in St. Augustine. Sadly, he did not live long enough to see the lions installed. They were his last gift of art to the city.

That's right Bill, good point! Route1Views features views located within 5 miles of current US 1, A1A, Business 1, 1 Bypass, and all of the previous routes US 1 has taken in the last 97 years. For example, the original route passed through the Lincoln Tunnel, but since 1932, it crossed the Hudson River on the George Washington Bridge.
