Uncover the Mythical Majesty of Pegasus at Hallandale Beach, FL
Imagine cruising South on Route 1 with a Florida breeze, when suddenly looming on the horizon, you catch a glimpse of a mythical battle frozen in time.
This is not your average roadside attraction!
Nestled in the heart of Hallandale Beach, next to Gulfstream Park, where the thoroughbreds run, stands a statue so grand – the legendary winged horse Pegasus triumphs over a fearsome Dragon, embodying a Clash of Titans in sparkling bronze.
At an awe-inspiring 110 ft tall this behemoth of artistry, isn’t just a testament to human creativity, but a playground for the imagination.
In fact, it’s the second tallest statue in the continental United States, after the Statue of Liberty.
Crafted with meticulous detail, the Pegasus and Dragon statue is the brainchild of an international cadre of sculptors and artisans.
Pegasus, a symbol of inspiration and victory in Greek mythology and the Dragon, often representing chaos and challenge. It’s a masterpiece that’s as much a tribute to the imagination as it is to the craftsmanship.
Climbing the steps to the pedestal, you will see a cascading waterfall at Pegasus’ feet.
Families flock here, not just to see an epic piece of art, but to become part of a storybook scene. Kids tug on sleeves, begging for pictures.
As the sun dips below the horizon, a sophisticated lighting system breathes life into the statue.
The Dragon is surrounded by musical fountains. At night the statue is home to a marvelous fountain show featuring 13 musical pieces, 350 fog nozzles, 116 water nozzles, special LED lighting and the dragon breathing fire for 20 feet.
Between the statues, the racing, dining, shopping areas, and a casino, there’s plenty to do here for hours.
