I’ve wanted to do a photographic essay of Route 1 since I was an undergraduate at Yale in the 1970’s. Somehow, in 2018 the way opened that would allow me to begin to travel Route 1 and take pictures.
I’m very grateful to the many people who have helped me to coax this project from “a cool idea” into a website that allows others to travel the road and to contribute their own views of Route 1.
