Behind the Scenes and Beyond at Key West's Fantasy Fest

When it comes to Halloween, Fantasy Fest is the place to be. 

 

We spent the calm before the storm with our friends Richard Hatch and his Blue Heaven pirate crew, along with Blake Olsen with his remarkable camera work. 

 

This year’s theme was Bedtime Stories and Magical Monsters, where participants dressed up as characters from childhood tales and fantastical beasts.

 

Through the magic of Neverland they built a boat,

as characters are shanghaied by pirates, while Peter Pan hangs from the mouth of Captain Hook’s nemesis crocodile, with the dazzling Tinkerbell nearby.

 

Everyone was so happy, having fun and excited by their wild creations. Good people,  good times.

 

It’s your wildness dreams, it’s wacky, it’s Key West,  and it’s all right at the dead-end of Route 1.
