Way back in 1954 a Key West tradition began with authentic Cuban and Conch cuisine created by Sandy Santiago Sr. and his son, Sandy Jr. at Sandy’s Cafe.
It’s located at the M&M Laundromat (so you can bring your laundry) at the corner of White street and Virginia street with walk up windows for quick orders.
The air smells of fresh Cuban bread baked daily, with Cuban coffee, Cafe con Leche and spicy aromas that drives dogs and human’s crazy.
72 years later the Santiago family continues to share these beloved delicacies with locals and tourists alike.
Of course their Cuban Sandwiches are pressed on fresh Cuban bread and are iconic throughout the island.
The breakfast plates include burritos, huevos rancheros and breakfast sandwiches for $5. There are empanadas, pork carnitas, tacos, conch fritters, and daily specials like oxtail and yellowtail snapper.
It’s authentic, it’s delicious and it’s good hangover food.
Super family customer service. Sometimes we go 3 times a week.
Be sure to try the Hibiscus iced tea.
