Boozy Boca Boat Bash
Hundreds of party animals floated on a thousand boats, jet skis, kayaks and paddle boards at the annual Boca Bash on Lake Boca Raton.
For years there have been hundreds of weekend sandbar gatherings of boats amd bikinis all along both coasts of Florida.
What began in Boca Raton in 2007, when party seekers showed up even though officials had canceled the event, attracts people from near and far at this massive boating and drinking extravaganza today.
This huge flotilla of serious inflatables, has live bands with DJs performing from the boats of course, as people meander in the shoulder deep water with drinks in hand.
It’s not easy to anchor, because boats often find nothing to grip except soft sand, where boats can often drift.
The inlet leads to a channel of more active water, which eventually flows into the Atlantic Ocean.
This Chill Party is an annual celebration on Lake Boca Raton, which is located in Palm Beach County.
Police keep a close watch to ensure safety, occasionally making arrests for various offenses, including drunken boating.
Some charter boat operators said this year’s event was the biggest one yet, over 10,000 people.
So next year, on the last Sunday of April, if you’re heading down Route 1 and get the urge to Party Hard, you’ll know where to go.
