Kite Festival at Haulover Beach - Miami

The sky over Miami’s Haulover Beach Park will be filled with hundreds of colorful kites during the 34th Annual Kite Festival, which begins this weekend (February 14 & 15).

People of all ages are welcome to participate with no restrictions on kite size or type?  Don’t have a kite, you can purchase one at the event.  There’s food trucks, refreshments, music,  just bring a blanket and take in the sensational sight of colorful kites filling the sky.

There’s a lot to do at Haulover Beach, where pooches can scamper along the dog beach and in the 3.3 acre Bark Park.

The 1.5 mile long beach encompasses 258 acres and is open from sunrise to sunset daily.

In the north section there is a clothing optional area, that is the largest public nudist beach in the United States, and attracts 1.3 million visitors per year.

Along with the turquoise blue waters and soft white sand, there are lifeguards and picnic areas,  including tennis courts, water sports  rentals for jet skiing and paddle-boarding, fishing, a skateboarding park and easy access for boats to launch.

Parking runs $7-10 per day, so just jump off Route 1 and head to the beach.
