Makefield Highlands - Links style Golf in Historic Bucks County
Makefield Highlands Golf Club is a public, 18-hole championship golf course located in Morrisville, Pennsylvania, nestled in historic Bucks County on the former Pleasant Valley Estate Farm. The course opened in 2004 and occupies 168 acres of land originally granted in the early 18th century. The property features a historic stone Manor House, which is a registered landmark and enhances the club’s scenic and historic appeal.
I’ve played the course three times, including a round this month (June 2025). As a 19 handicapper, Makefield provides a great balance of challenge and fun. I can usually make the shots I need to, but not all of them. My only gripe this time was that the greens were pretty slow. I attribute that to a very rainy May.
The course is just up the hill from Washington’s Crossing State Park, if you’d like to soak up a little American History after your round. Or head to the center of Morrisville to see the memorial to Robert Morris, a signer of the Declaration of Independence.
