Pooch Friendly island Dogs Bar Key West

Over the last 10 years, we have made over 50 road trips down Route 1 to Key West, mainly because it’s like going to the Caribbean, for fishing, diving and just plain fun. 

 

But one of the coolest things about the Keys is how dog friendly all the bars and restaurants are. 

 

So if you’re really don’t want to leave your pooch back home, these folks are quite accommodating. 

 

They’ve even got their own bar on Front street,   Island Dogs Bar which allows dogs inside the AC and gladly provide order bowls. 

 

The sidewalk and asphalt during the summer, gets pretty hot on their pads, so this bar is a good break for you both.

 

You’ll see dogs of all shapes and sizes, and they even have special dog treats available. 

 

For humans, it’s Key West bar fare with Island Dog  (hot dogs of course), Key West Pizza, conch fritters and chowder, wings, ceviche, Philly egg rolls, burgers, fish sandwiches and shrimp. 

 

Of course there’s  beer and numerous cocktails like a goombay smash, mojitos, rum runners, margaritas and their famous key lime pie martini. 

 

This is a very laid back sports bar that features eight flat screen televisions, and a seven foot projector with surround sound.

 

So when you’re walking your dog from bar to bar in Key West and there’s a game on that you want to catch, you have your go to place at Island Dogs Bar.
