Sinatra's Favourite Pastries- Viniero's Pasticceria NYC

For 132 years this family owned establishment has been operated by four generation descendants of Antonio Veniero, an Italian who immigrated to America in 1885 when he was fifteen years old.

 

In 1894 at this 11th street location, he opened a social club with a pool table, where he roasted espresso and served homemade candies and biscotti. 

 

His pastries and cakes won awards in Rome, Bologna and at the New York World’s Fair. 

 

Today they serve over 150 desserts, but they’re famous for their Italian butter cookies, biscotti, cannoli,  tiramasu, New York  cheesecake,  red velvet and rainbow cakes. 

 

Sinatra’s favorite pastry order was a regina, a sesame seed coated pastry filled with lemon cream. 

 

This place is bustling at all times but when you open the door and that smell hits you, you think you’re in heaven.
