Soda Jerks and Celebrities: The Retro Charm of Lexington Candy Shop in Manhattan
This Century Old Retro Vibe Diner, is the last remaining authentic New York City luncheonette, established and family-owned since 1925.
Just three blocks from Central Park, you can experience the magic of old school Soda Jerks and Vintage Vibes in the heart of Manhattan.
In fact the shop today is run by the great grandson of the founder, John Phillis. John first started out helping his dad around the shop 42 years ago.
The Lexington Candy Shop is famous for its Coca-Cola float with egg cream, malted milkshakes, fountain cherry Cokes, ice cream floats and the best lemonade ever.
The Angus burgers, sliders, potato latkes and chicken pot pie are all off the charts.
Paul McCartney and Bruce Springsteen and many other celebrities are seen here.
In 1975 the film Three Days of the Condor was shot here with Robert Redford and Faye Dunaway.
If you are visiting one of the several museums in the neighborhood, this is a great “go-to” for a good meal and a fun time.
It feels like you’re traveling back in time to the good old days of America.
