The Infamous Stringdusters Usher in 2023 in Richmond, VA
The current band consists of Andy Hall (Dobro), Andy Falco (guitar), Chris Pandolfi (banjo), Jeremy Garrett (fiddle), and Travis Book (double bass). As with most groups that have been around for a decade and a half, there have been some changes in personnel.
The origins of the group date back to the early 2000’s on Route One when guitarist Chris Eldridge, Andy Hall and Chris Pandolfi met at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. After moving to Nashville, they met Jesse Cobb (mandolin) and Jeremy Garrett (fiddle) and Travis Book (bass). Eldridge jumped ship to play with the Punch Brothers (Chris Thile), and that’s when Andy Falco stepped in.
The Stringdusters were signed to Sugar Hill Records and won three International Bluegrass Music Association awards for their first release, “Fork In The Road” in 2007. In 2018, the Stringdusters won a Grammy for Best Bluegrass Album for “Laws of Gravity”.
Their Route 1 stops in 2022 include:
New Haven – Toad’s Place 9/21/22
NYC – Gramercy Theater 9/23/22
Boston – Paradise Rock Club 9/24/22
Baltimore – Soundstage 10/5/22
Richmond – The National DEC 29-31
I had the pleasure of seeing the group play in December, 2021 at the Met in Philadelphia and I highly recommend the Stringdusters for their entertaining live performance!
