Third Place in Portsmouth, NH

Ceres Bakery is one of those places you find yourself wanting to return again and again. A “Third place” (after home and work) where you can catch up with friends or meet new ones. The vibe is very casual, artsy, and intellectual. Oh, and did I mention the baked goods and the coffee? You’re not likely to be disappointed, unless the place is closed. That’s what happened on my last visit, since they reduced hours during COVID. Phoebe Biddle, the store owner does a wonderful job of preparing a place where people just want to hang out.
