Discovering the Charm of Aiken, South Carolina: A Day of History and Nature

Aiken is a city in the western part of the state of South Carolina, United States. It is the county seat of Aiken County and is known for its equestrian events, historic sites, and natural beauty. Aiken has a population of approximately 30,000 people and is located about 20 miles east of Augusta, Georgia.

The city was founded in 1835 and named after William Aiken, a prominent railroad executive and former governor of South Carolina.
