4315 US-1, Monmouth Junction, NJ
I came across this abandoned building on Route 1 in South Monmouth Junction and found out that it has been abandoned for years now, with graffiti now painted on it.
This building was built around the 1960s by the EAI company, makers of an excellent line of analog computers. This was a wonderful, progressive company that offered many benefits for its employees. Unfortunately, their business was virtually destroyed by the advent of the modern digital computer, and they were forced to move.
The Princeton Alliance Church used the building for a while after EAI left. Eventually, the church grew sufficiently to build a new spacious building in Plainsboro for their members, and then the George Washington Council was able to move here on June 9, 1999. It also looks like the Central NJ Council of the Boy Scouts of America was also located here at one point.
