Cassatt, SC is one of the smaller towns to dot Route 1, but there’s a good reason to plan a stop there. The Highway 1 Cafe is one of the friendliest places you’ll ever visit. There is a warm family atmosphere that pervades the dining room along with the smell of home-cooked food. Tracey is the proprietor. She has many plates spinning at once, since she’s a new mother and a small business owner. She even takes the time to get a leg lamp out of storage that she puts in the window around Christmas time (see “A Christmas Story”, if you don’t know this reference!) So if you’re ever in the 29032 zip code feeling a little hungry, be sure to visit the Highway 1 Cafe.
