3 Cheers for this Bistro Pub on the Federal Highway in Dania, FL
3 Sons Brewing is a casual, friendly, unassuming bistro right on Route One in Dania. As you might surmise from their name, beer is their siren song to travelers and locals alike. The crowd is generally young and familiar with the place. If the building wasn’t so cavernous it would feel more social, like an English pub often does. 3 Sons is decidedly a stainless steel, concrete, metal railings kind of place, so don’t come looking for a wood paneled room. All of those hard surfaces make for a noisy space, too. While I carried on a conversation easily with someone seated next to me at the bar, I could also hear conversations from nearby tables because everyone in the place had to speak up in order to be heard over the collective din.
If you’re coming for beer, you won’t be disappointed in the selection, you’ll be disappointed that you can’t taste them all in one visit! However, 4 oz. glasses are available and sampling is welcomed. I had a sour beer (which is a good thing) that was delicious and I sampled an oatmeal stout that was especially yummy. Reports from up and down the bar ran from “excellent” to “marvelous”, and there’s something at 3 Sons to please the regular IPA straight-down-the-middle drinkers to the ales only aficionados, to those who love florals and flavors in their brew.
My meal was excellent; pork belly and scallop skewers and one of their custom made shrimp pizzas. I saw some great looking tacos going by me and the group next to me kept on ordering wings to go along with their beers.
So if you find yourself in the Fort Lauderdale area and don’t want to face the bustle of the Strip, but still want a lively spot to grab a meal, maybe you should check out 3 Sons Brewing.
