Key West Aquarium
The aquamarine waters surrounding Key West are home to amazing marine life and local divers and fishermen are always bringing the biggest and best of the species to the Key West Aquarium.
Opening during the Great Depression in 1934 this was the Keys first tourist attraction.
The undersea world at the aquarium are packed with exhibits as marine biologists and expert guides walk you through many interactive encounters. The Coral Reef tank has a wonderful array of colorful schools of local fish while the Predator Reef tank has a variety of sharks, barracudas, grouper and snapper.
Where else can you hand feed tarpons, rays and actually feed sharks into a frenzy. The jellyfish and sea turtle exhibits are outstanding and they even have alligators.
There are few family attractions in the Keys but this place you don’t want to miss at the end of Route 1.
