Medivac Plane Crashes In Philadelphia – Just Off Of Route 1
On January 31, 2025 at 6:07 PM EST, a Medivac Jet crashed into a neighborhood near the Roosevelt Mall, in Philadelphia PA, just moments after leaving the airstrip. At the time of this post, at least seven people have died and about 19 others have been injured. Six of the people that died were aboard the plane, which included two crew members, two doctors, a pediatric patient, and the mother of the patient. The other person that died in the crash, was a person in their car on the road where the plane crashed. The plane was operated by Jet Rescue Air Ambulance, a Florida-based company, and two doctors on the plane were the Jet Rescue Air Ambulance doctors.
The pediatric patient was a girl from Mexico who had received treatment at Shriners Children’s Hospital Philadelphia. Her treatment had ended, and she was on her way home with her mother when the plane crashed.
Multiple homes caught fire in the area of Cottman Avenue and Roosevelt Boulevard following the crash, fire officials said. 5 fires were resolved by the local fire department. The area of the crash is a densely populated residential neighborhood packed with rows of homes. The Roosevelt Mall was temporary closed because of the fires and crash. Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker said several homes and vehicles were impacted. Residents were cautioned to stay out of the area. “We’re urging you to please stay away from the scene. If you see debris, call 911. Don’t touch anything. This is still an active scene under investigation. We’re just asking for prayers for any and everyone who may have been affected.”
