Nom Your Way Thru the Menu at Blue Moon Cafe in Baltimore
In the mood for a killer breakfast in Fels Point? Follow the folks who have been coming to the Blue Moon Cafe since 1996. They know what’s good! Get there early to get a seat, or you’ll torture yourself smelling all of the great food on the griddle before your turn comes around. They open at 7. They call their breakfasts “bad ass”. Rather indelicate marketing, wouldn’t you agree?
I enjoyed the huge Hobo Scramble, because I needed serious protein. But there’s lots of sweet stuff, if you’re in the mood for pancakes or waffles. I’ve been told the Capt’n Crunch French Toast can change your life. As a diabetic, I’d say that’s probably true, but not in a good way. Oh, and if you’re fond of crab, they’ll put it in an omelet for you, on top of your Eggs Benedict, or load it onto extra crispy hash browns. They call that combo the Sweet Baby Jesus. I can see Ricky Bobby plowing into that pileup on a plate.
The staff was super-friendly. They probably took pity on me coming in bleary eyed from my second consecutive sunrise shoot. They gave me all the encouragement and advice that I needed, and I left full of protein and caffeine and a renewed sense of how much I love enormous breakfasts.
