Sebastian Fishing Museum
In the 1880s Pioneers migrated South to the St Sebastian River and here began a small fishing village where people survived and made a living from the waters of this beautiful area. Railroads helped transport fish to Northern markets as fishing shanties popped up along the banks. It became the most fish shipped out commercially at one time in the southeast.
The museum preserves the cultural and historical past of Sebastian’s commercial and recreational fishing community with videos showcases, fishing gear, relics from the past and with a remarkable collection of pictures you could take a step back in time.
On Sebastian Inlet the museum is physically located on Orchid Island. o
