Yo-Yo's Star is Rising in Bath, ME
Meet Yo-Yo, the front man at Yum-Mee Restaurant in Bath. He agreed to be filmed at work because he really wants to go viral. I hope you’ll share this and help him to realize his dream. Yo-Yo has recommendations from the menu, and is an extraordinary ambassador for this special food establishment located on Centre Street, in the shadow of the Route 1 overpass, just before the bridge across the Kennebec River.
I ordered their curry chicken, and was not disappointed. Because of COVID, all of their orders are taken over the internet, or by phone and are picked up at their front door, or delivered by the Manager. The chicken was tender enough to cut with a fork, but not the plastic one that came in the bag with my meal. The curry was spicy, with lots of dried red pepper – not for the feint of heart, but I love it that way.
This is a no-frills kind of place, just like Ray’s up the Route in Wiscassett, but you won’t wait an hour to pay 30 bucks for seafood in a hot dog roll like you do there. At Yum-Mee, you can get a full dinner for less than half of that, and get a fortune cookie, too (okay…. they have one frill). Hell, you can get Yo-Yo’s favorite dish, a Pu-Pu platter for 2 and still have 5 bucks left over!!!
So whaddya say? Let’s make Yum-Mee the next great thing on Route One!
