Michael & Cynthia Morse run a superb store right in the heart of Eastport, which has struggled during the COVID crisis. At the Breakwater Gallery on Main Street, they have a beautiful array of crafts, oils, watercolors, cards, and other works of art in every corner of the store. Most of them are crafted locally. A store like this can only be curated after many years of interaction with artist communities. Cynthia has been an instructor and mentor, which I’m sure has helped the process. The results are compelling and heartwarming. They also know their market! There are mostly small pieces in the gallery to overcome the “we don’t have room for that” obstacle of the traveling buyer.
