Cassatt, SC is one of the smaller towns to dot Route 1, but there’s a good reason to plan a stop there. The Highway 1 Cafe is one of the friendliest places you’ll ever visit. There is a warm family atmosphere that pervades the dining room along with the smell of home-cooked food. Tracey is the proprietor. She has many plates spinning at once, since she’s a new mother and a small business owner. She even takes the time to get a leg lamp out of storage that she puts in the window around Christmas time (see “A Christmas Story”, if you don’t know this reference!)
