Loring Cove Preserve
Just off of US 1, Loring Cove Preserve is a must-see destination. Watch the low time times, and enjoy beautiful views and Maine wildlife. Located in Perry, Maine, Loring Cove Preserve is a 13-acre habitat that was traditionally used by fishermen since the 1800s. Fish weirs were constructed to capture herring and the weirs were tended until 2000. Commercial fishermen still use this area to access the water and tend to a weir that was built in 2019.
Acquired by the Maine Coast Heritage Trust in 2016, shore access and beach are used by the fishermen to take their vehicles to the beach. Others are not permitted to do so.
At low tide, you can visit the gravel beach and along the shore, see beautiful sea cliffs, Passamaquoddy Bay, and St. Andrews, Canada.
It’s worth a trip!
