    Mel Fisher Maritime Museum

Fisher was a lifelong diver and treasure hunter whose 15-year Quest finally hit Pay Dirt in 1985 when his Salvage crew recovered $450 million in Treasure just offshore of the Key West coastline.   The treasure includes 24 tons of silver bullion ingots and coins, 125 gold bars and discs and 1,200 lb of silverware.

The Bounty came from the Nuestra Senora de Atocha Galleon which sank during a hurricane in 1622.   A lot of the gold bars, coins, chalices and jewelry along with the exhibits on the Caribbean slave trade are on display.

The museum is fun for history Buffs treasure Hunters and would be Pirates you will learn more about famous Key West shipwrecks and the Lost Treasure that lured Sailors here for centuries.
