Then and Now - Loew's Canal Theatre - New York, NY
The Loew’s Canal Theatre opened on September 8, 1927 in the Lower East Side neighborhood of New York City. It closed in the late 1950s, and by the early 1960s the lobby was converted to retail space, while the auditorium was used as a warehouse. The first photograph was taken shortly before the theater opened, and the second was taken after the theater had been closed for 60 years. There are no plans for the buildings future.Matt Lambros Oct 24, 2022 New York NY Abandoned Places Theaters Then & Now
