WaCo Diner - Eastport, ME

Another stop on our quest to find the ultimate lobster roll took us to Eastport, and the oldest diner in Maine, established in 1924, just 2 years before Route 1. Everyone in town must have been eating lunch late, because there was a bit of a wait before we were seated, and then a longer one before our menus and a glass of water arrived, with apologies. Even though our bellies were groaning for our lobster roll by the time it arrived, this lobster roll didn’t taste any better than we had wished, rating only 3 stars out of 5. After 96 years in business, one would think they’d have an advantage over some of the other joints we tried. The cajun style fried haddock sandwich was better.
