Delray Beach Adventure: Pizza, Ice Cream, and Charming Farm Animals, at The Girl's Strawberry Patch
A delightful day trip of great vibes and delicious food, just grab a slice of pizza and an ice cream cone to enjoy a walk and feed the animals.
Rows of lush ripe strawberries begging to be plucked. Visitors often remark that the act of picking your own berries adds a flavor you just can’t find in store-bought cartons.
It’s the flavor of satisfaction, of a morning well spent under the Florida sun with your hands doing the delicious dance of berry picking.
You’ll find the strawberries are almost an excuse, a delicious backdrop to the real show – Family Fun.
Among the greenery and the strawberry fields you’ll find a cast of characters straight out of a storybook waiting to greet you. Each creature is a character with quirks and charms that could steal the show in any fairy tale.
Visitors are not just guests, they become part of the narrative, the ensemble cast of a lively fun-filled play.
Every scratch behind the ears or handful of feed offered is met with enthusiastic approval. The critters on the farm add to the charm conspiring to photobomb your moments and elicit bursts of laughter.
Here the bunnies are so fluffy it’s like petting a cloud with a heartbeat. The little parakeets are hilarious, the goats are inquisitive, as laughter mingles with animal calls. There’s ponies, pigs, tortoises, birds, snakes, chickens, swans, fish and more.
The petting zoo is just about the cutest place ever, I mean what’s not to like, affordable fun for the whole family.
It’s a snapshot of Florida’s agricultural charm, a slice of rural life where visitors can appreciate the simpler things.
There’s a huge pizzeria with assorted pizza by the slice ready to eat, an outrageous Old Time Candy Store, including a Homemade Ice Cream Parlor that serves Girls Famous strawberry milkshakes, a killer brownie sundae and over 54 flavors of ice cream and sherbet.
It’s a patch of paradise for those keen on quaint adventures. Open Tuesday through Friday 10:30 to 8:30, Saturday and Sunday 10:00 to 8:30, and the petting zoo closes at 6:00 p.m.
A delightful fun family experience right off Route 1.
