After drinking Papa’s Pilar rum for a few years now this is not the kind of rum for a Cuba Libre or rum punch but for sipping with a couple ice cubes.
Named for literary giant Ernest Hemingway and his fishing boat the Pilar, rum has been the chosen spirit in the Keys for over a hundred years. While sampling the rums with a drink in your hand makes the tour a lot of fun, it’s quite interesting how the rum is made and the abundant tales about the Keys and it’s colorful history are terrific.
All three Pilar Rums: Dark, Blonde and Sherry Finished are for sale in the retail store. You don’t want to leave empty handed.
