The Great Blue Hill Observation Tower (Eliot Tower) - Milton, MA
The Blue Hill Observation Tower is a steel fire lookout tower in the Blue Hills Reservation, a state park in the Boston metropolitan area. It was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps. The tower is in the town of Milton, Massachusetts. The tower was open seasonally and offered a panoramic view of the Boston skyline, the coast of Massachusetts and beyond. However, it has been closed for the past few years.
Visitors used to reach the top by climbing the metal stairs inside the tower, it has a height of 635 feet above sea level, that is the highest point in the Boston area. The Blue Hills Reservation is a popular spot for hiking, picnicking, and other outdoor activities, and the tower is a popular destination for those looking for a scenic view of the area. The tower was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
