World Golf Hall of Fame St Augustine
If you are coming to the PLAYERS Championship March 9-12, you must see the World Golf Hall of Fame.
This is a major museum with interactive exhibits with historic personal artifacts which honor and celebrate golf’s greatest players. Walk through the history of golf where you can play over 165 courses from around the world on a simulator. See how the equipment and balls have changed over the years, with the opportunity to use clubs from the 1800s.
Watch films of golf Legends like Palmer, Nicklaus, Hogan, Player, Trevino, Norman, and Woods.
The Bob Hope section was fun and there are trophies everywhere. There’s a whole section dedicated to the ladies in the sport and don’t forget to take the elevator to the top of the tower.
The exhibits are exquisitely laid out, you can even put your name on The Masters scoreboard. There’s an 18 hole natural grass putting course (they have putters) and you have one shot across the lake on the 138 yard Par 3 Hall of Fame Challenge Hole.
All of this for only $21 and you could easily spend two or three hours here, then stroll over to the Murray Brothers Caddyshack Bar and Grill. Bill Murray and his five brothers own the golf themed restaurant where you’re invited to “Eat, Drink and be Murray”. Props and nostalgia from the film CADDYSHACK are everywhere.
All of this is off Route 1 where the TP Sawgrass home of The Players is about 20 minutes away.
