On the way down Route 1 to Key Largo, we stopped at the Everglades Alligator Farm, which is located near the entrance to the 1.5 million-acre Everglades National Park. South Florida’s oldest alligator farm since 1953 is home to over 2000 alligators and hundreds of other reptiles and animal species. The $29 adult and $22 for kids entrance fee includes an awesome airboat ride, a terrific alligator show, Gator feeding, and an informative snake show. A well-trained staff and educational tour makes this fun for the home family. The airboat ride gets really loud, so you wear earphones and a little swampy too, so you might want to spend a dollar for a poncho.
