The Ice Plant Bar and Restaurant is located at 110 Riberia Street in St. Augustine, Florida, and this landmark building is reason enough to visit even before you glance at the menu.
Originally constructed in 1927 as a working ice factory, the structure has been carefully preserved to honor its industrial roots. With it’s thick masonry walls, soaring ceilings and exposed architectural bones give the space a raw, authentic energy.
With it’s decor and ambience it feels like it’s still the Roaring 20’s. The restoration team made a deliberate choice to lean into the building’s character rather than cover it up. Vintage details blend seamlessly with modern lighting and a carefully designed bar.
This place is famous for its craft cocktails and Southern inspired dishes.
Bartenders have created drinks like “Virtual Insanity”, “Viva La Vida”, “Pool Party Massacre” and “the Amelia”, a vodka, elderflower, blackberry and lemon blend described as mixed to perfection.
Ask any regular that comes to the Ice Plant and they will give you a different dish that’s their favorite.
The Skillet Fried Chicken and Hoecakes (somewhere between a pancake and cornbread) is phenomenal.
Many come here for their salads, like the iconic wedge salad and their very famous Caesar salad with a olive tapenade, homemade croutons and tangy capers.
Of course, their crispy truffle fries are absolute heaven.
We eat here often and last night we ordered the pork belly sliders alongside lamb empanadas and shrimp ceviche, which was a true culinary treat.
For pet owners who hate leaving their dogs behind, the Ice Plant Bar has a solution. The outdoor patio is dog friendly, making it a genuinely welcoming spot for 4 legged companions who want to tag along on a night out in St. Augustine.
For a bar and restaurant that draws such large crowds, they handle everything with an impressive amount of class.
The servers, bartenders and food are all sensational, and it’s easily one of our favorites when we come to town.
