St Augustine Alligator Farm
Living in Florida most of my life, I always had a soft spot for Gator Farms. My brother was a Handler at a reptile institute back in the seventies where he milked rattlesnakes and wrestled alligators. Crazy fun.
This is the Best Alligator Farm in Florida.
George Reddington and Felix Fire began collecting alligators on Anastasia Island where they founded the St Augustine Alligator Farm back in 1893. Thanks to advertising by 1910, the alligator farm became an established Florida attraction.
Exhibiting hundreds of alligators, numerous species of poisonous snakes, stunning birds, animal performances and educational demonstrations.
They have an awesome Boardwalk that runs the length of a football field where below you are hundreds of hungry alligators.
Find out the gator feeding time, you don’t want to miss that.
They have a live over 15 foot , 1,250 pounds saltwater crocodile named Maximus that has an underwater viewing window where you can get eye to eye. Gomek they’re famous 18 ft 2,000 lb crocodile is now well preserved although I have seen kids afraid to turn their back on him. There’s also the rare and mystical creature from the Louisiana bayou, albino alligators. Legend has it that those who gaze upon these beautiful reptiles will receive good fortune.
Crocodile Crossing is for thrill seekers that want to zip through the treetops across seven acres of fun on two challenging courses with up to 17 zip lines.
There’s over 800 alligators here and it’s a good time for the whole family, reasonably priced and a tour runs about 2 hours. Find out more at https://www.alligatorfarm.com/our-history/
