Drew Nugent - LIVE "Second Hand Man" in Providence, RI

I don’t know anybody else who can play piano with his left hand and trumpet with his right hand simultaneously, do you?

Although this song feels old-timey, it was written in 1965 by Daniel Walter Dalton for a group called the Back Porch Majority. It was performed by years by Robert Ziesing with the Orpheus Club of Philadelphia, where I learned it.

I encouraged Drew to adapt the tune to his inimitable style. Drew does his live performance at the Lippitt House Museum in Providence, RI in this video. We recorded it the next day at Mad Oak Studios in Allston, MA with Vanessa Silberman producing.
