Memories – Red Lobster Shutdowns – Lawrenceville, NJ

    Red Lobster Bankruptcy and Shutdowns

On May 13,2024, the nostalgic Red Lobster closed 96 restaurants in the USA, with all of these listed as “temporarily closed” on the restaurant’s website.  Workers at the shutdown restaurants shared their disbelief on social media and said they received no notice whatsoever. The closures come as bankruptcy rumors circled the seafood restaurant chain in recent weeks. Red Lobster has been struggling for some time. With lease and labor costs piling up in recent years, the chain was reportedly considering filing for bankruptcy. A potential Chapter 11 filing could help Red Lobster exit from some long-term contracts and renegotiate many of its leases, unnamed sources familiar with the matter told Bloomberg News last month.

    Our Red Lobsters Experience

Red Lobster has been one of my favorite restaurants, which I have been going to for over 20 years and is nostalgic in the restaurant industry.  The first one I visited was in 2002 in New York City, which opened in 2002 in Times Square. From the first visit, the lobster and shrimp meals were always great, and I visited over 15 Red Lobster locations.  With all the years that followed, Red Lobster has always been a great restaurant to go to, and my kids always loved the Red Lobster biscuits. Visit yours on Route 1 to have memories of something that may not ever come back.  Me and my family tried to go to the Red Lobster in Lawrenceville, NJ, on May 16, 2024, for a last memory there, but when we got there, it was when we found out that it was closed.

That said, if there is a Red Lobster near you, it would be good to visit it as soon as you can, as you don’t know when it might be closing.
