There’s Something About Mary is a classic comedy from the insanely off the wall Farrelly Brothers.

Most of the film was shot in Miami and in the movie Ted,  Ben Stiller’s character stays at the Cardozo Hotel on Ocean Drive.   The hotel is featured in the movie several times so it’s pretty recognizable when you are strolling around Ocean Drive in South Beach.

Consider taking the family to lunch at this iconic Hotel, who knows you might see the owner, Gloria Estefan.

The Story begins in 1985 when Ted, a geeky teenager with a crush on beautiful Mary, Cameron Diaz asks her out to the prom and she’s accepts.

FYI just about every man in this film is a liar.

Before they can go out on their date, disaster strikes in every possible way unintentionally and humiliating.

Thirteen years later Ted can’t get Mary off his mind and decides to hire a detective played by Matt Dillon,  to look for her.

What follows is a hilarious and rather gross tale of deceit between Mary’s suitors, all trying to win the love of Mary.

Released in July of 1998 with a production budget of $25 million, the film went on to have a worldwide gross of $370 million.
