A true matriarch is heading back to the wild kingdom this week, Timmy a 72-80-year-old 270 pound Loggerhead Turtle has already nested this season and has many more miles left to swim.
Just last week they released Roxanne, an adult female that was rescued off the Florida Keys, where she was found entangled in a trap line. This beautiful girl had perfect blood work, good body condition and minimal injuries from the entanglement. The medical team made a good decision to return her to the wild quickly as she will most likely nest this season.
